What do you love about your career?

I absolutely love the industry that I am in. I love going to work everyday knowing that, yes, I have repetitive tasks to complete, but at the same time I never know what is going to come through my inbox on any given day. I love being a part of a team and being able to collaborate.

What advice would you give to someone starting their career?

The biggest piece of advice I would give to someone starting their career is that it’s okay to not know everything. Ask all the questions. Take in the knowledge; take the notebook full of notes for yourself. Take the time to understand the “why’s” behind what you are doing, and keep asking the questions until you do. Don’t shy away from things just because you are afraid of failing. Starting your career is uncomfortable at first, but the moment you embrace the discomfort and put in the work to overcome it and build the knowledge, the sky is the limit ahead of you.

Where have you grown the most in your career?

My confidence has grown the most in my career. When I started as a fresh college grad I had zero confidence in myself: I was so afraid of forgetting a task, a due date, not being able to keep up or not knowing enough. I was afraid of failing. It took a long time for me to find my confidence and my voice, and to trust the knowledge I’ve built. But once I found it I became a completely different person. My voice became stronger. I carried myself stronger and I became genuinely happier.

What makes a good role model? Have you had one that has made an impact in your life/career?

I am fortunate enough to have had a handful of role models throughout my professional career, and I can honestly say those people have helped mold me into the woman I am today. A good role model is someone who you look up to without even realizing it – a person who not only you admire, but someone who is also willing to invest in YOU and help build YOU up.

What are the things that have helped you excel in your life/career?

My own personal motivation and determination for self growth, along with the amazing support system I have behind me – both personally and professionally – are what have helped me get to where I am today. I’ve always been motivated to never be complacent in my career. I am always looking to learn and grow in my career, and I am lucky enough to have people behind me who push me to continue working towards those goals.
