If I didn’t make the right decision on moving towards accounting, I would still have a job in cash management that I didn’t like much at all. Instead, I am working in a job that I love and would spend the rest of my life in. When I was young, I loved math and liked resolving difficult problems in math. I have been an achiever not because I have a brilliant mind, but because I work very hard in doing homework, projects, or puzzles. Growing up in the poor family I wanted to learn to save and value money, so I can help my family deal with any money issue they had because none of my family members knew how to take care of their bank accounts. When I finished high school, I was so proud of myself because it prepared me to go and study in one of the biggest University of my country! I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business, then after, I graduated from a different professional school which I earned a Graduate Certificate in Accounting. After graduating college and earning my degree, I found a job in cash management. I learned a lot about treasury and how to deal with cash which didn’t interest that much, but it did start making me wonder “what I am I going to do with the rest of my life, so I decided I wanted to be an accountant! This made me look for a job that dealt in more with accounting, which lead me into be an accountant assistant at NAI Hiffman. The position that I have now is more important because it gives me a lot of satisfaction and has been a great experience so far where I have learned and accomplished a lot. I suppose a lot of people would say I am stubborn, but I prefer to see this in a more positive way. I always liked to help people and find a way on how to solve problems with them in accounting. I am loyal, determined, and goal driven. I always had strong organization and planning skills along with proactive problem resolution which made me the right person for this job.
Besides work, I am person who spends a part of my time with family and friends. I would like to take my kids out in park for walk, cook meals with them and sometimes they would help me. Also, I enjoy meeting with my family and friends to hang out or even throw a party to celebrate a special event that has occurred. One of my favorite hobbies is dancing! When I was in high school, I participated in different dance groups like being a cheerleader or even practicing my dance move in the talent show in my country. Different types of dances I did were learning on how to do the Tango and the Salsa, which I learned from doing lessons in downtown Chicago. Also, as an adult, I want to keep a healthier lifestyle, so I bought a Fit Bit from the store to see if I am losing weight. Overall, being in accounting was the only thing I was passionate about when I was as cash management assistant. Even though sometime accounting can be rough I can always count on my family and friends to keep me happy. Even dancing can be relaxing here and there, even thought I might be a little too old for doing the Tango or the Salsa. In the future, I want to be a professional accountant and might even help the other people in my department that are trying to be just like me.
