Last night, individuals from NAI Hiffman, along with other local businesses, attended the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Kick-Off Party at Pinstripes in Oak Brook to raise awareness for the upcoming ACS “Relay for Life” event that will take place Friday, August 2, 2013. The event will be held at Terrace View Park located behind Parkview Plaza in Oakbrook Terrace. The event is an organized community fundraising walk where members of each team take turns walking around the track while other activities take place to provide entertainment and help build team camaraderie.

Relay for Life is an annual fundraising event that supports cancer research and ACS programs to support individuals diagnosed with cancer.  Relay for Life began in May 1985, when Dr. Gordy Klatt walked and ran for 24 hours around a track in Tacoma, Washington, ultimately raising $27,000 to help the American Cancer Society. Since those first steps, the Relay For Life movement has grown into a worldwide phenomenon, raising more than $4 billion to fight cancer.

For more information on how to get involved with the Oak Brook Area Corporate ACS Relay For Life, visit the event website.
