I am fortunate to have spent my entire 30+ year career in the commercial real estate business. Industrial real estate has evolved tremendously over the years, always providing new challenges and opportunities, which is why I still find my work as interesting and rewarding as it was when I started. I’m a Chicago native but I spent my high school and college years in Colorado. I returned to Chicago in 1990 where I began my career at Nicolson Porter & List (NPL) initially focused on the O’Hare and West Suburban industrial market, representing private and institutional investors as well as local businesses. After becoming a partner with NPL in 1999, we continued to grow and develop, ultimately merging our firm (in its 110th year of business) with NAI Hiffman in 2019.
When I am not chasing around the market, what I enjoy most is spending time with my wife and our three kids. Our best times are spent hosting family and friends or traveling to visit them – always searching for new adventures to experience together. Youth and high school sports, skiing in the Rockies and summers on Kentucky Lake will always be the most priceless of memories for our entire family.

Adam Stokes, SIOR is an Executive Vice President at NAI Hiffman and has been advising and representing industrial real estate owners and users since the start of his 30+ year career with Nicolson Porter & List (NPL) in 1990. Adam was a Partner at NPL for 20 years prior to joining NAI Hiffman in 2019 when the two companies merged.
Adam has advised hundreds of clients in connection with the development, acquisition, disposition, leasing and management of industrial property and has completed transactions exceeding $1 billion in total volume.
