What was the toughest challenge you faced when you were starting out?
Prior to entering the Commercial Real Estate world, I had never been exposed to real estate so it was a challenge learning the terms, the language, what to look for and how to market – both for the brokers and the company I worked for. There were also new programs and technologies that were all challenges to be embraced. It was an exciting time!
What resources have been invaluable to you?
The people around me. Especially at NAI Hiffman, I always have been comfortable going to not only management, but other brokers or marketing coordinators with questions.
What advice do you have for women pursuing a career in CRE?
I would advise any woman pursuing a career in CRE to find a good mentor and learn all you can from that mentor. Always put your clients’ interests first and do the best job possible to further those interests. And be kind – always be kind to those around you, it always comes back tenfold.
