In high school, I worked at my dad’s restaurant doing a number of different jobs from waitressing to bookkeeping. It didn’t take long to figure out that I preferred the bookkeeping end of the business. It was there that I first learned about basic accounting, good customer service skills and solving issues with vendors. Those skills gave me a very good foundation to move into property management. What I like best about my position is that I’m still learning new things! I enjoy the variety of duties I perform and I am able to use my administrative, accounting and customer service skills to assist property owners, tenants and vendors.
Outside the office, I enjoy daily walks with my grand-dog, Benji. I’m an avid reader and belong to a book club which has given me an opportunity to read a variety of books that I probably wouldn’t have read on my own. I enjoy the never-ending scrapbooking of family and vacation photos. Sunday is Funday with family. This always involves sharing a meal together and may include a bike ride, game or movie night, or just sitting around and laughing together. I’m also one of the founding members of Positive Impact Fox Valley. This organization began as a group of friends wanting to make a difference in our community. PIFV does fundraising and various service projects in the surrounding Fox Valley area. And, I also volunteer at Willow Creek Community Church in the Care Center bagging groceries.
