I was attracted to industrial real estate for a variety of reasons but initially, the biggest draw was the ever-changing landscape that comes with being an industrial broker. Meeting and advising clients who each have their own unique set of circumstances to formulate strategies and achieve their goals ensures every deal and every day has the potential to be so different from the last. I’ve always been a goal-oriented person and find great satisfaction in the relatively short transaction cycle of our business and being able to see individual transactions through from start to finish. Another attraction to industrial real estate is the flexibility of being an independent contractor and controlling my own future. While many determining factors in our business are outside of our control, we do get to control who we work with and what type of projects we choose to pursue.
In 1998, I married my college sweetheart, Lindsey, and have two beautiful daughters, Abby and Callie. I’ve been an avid tennis player since I was nine years old and continue to play whenever possible. Playing tennis growing up taught me that hard work is rewarded with success – a lesson I’ve carried with me into my professional life as well. Traveling and enjoying free time with my family and friends are always welcome distractions from the hustle of brokerage.

Steven D. Bass is an Executive Vice President with NAI Hiffman’s Industrial Services Group. His focus is on assisting clients with strategic real estate planning, financial analysis and market research. Steve excels at both product and tenant representation predominately in the I-90 Northwest, Northwest Cook and Central DuPage submarkets.
During his career, Steve has represented companies such as Box Partners, Maines Paper and Food Services, Safety Socket, Hydrox Laboratories, Chicago Importing, National Kitchen & Bath Cabinets, Media Monkey, Kabat America and Premier Transportation & Warehousing.
