Two companies expand leased space in Duke Realty Corporation properties in Chicago area
As seen in RE Journals
Two companies recently expanded the amount of space they are leasing in two Duke Realty Corporation properties in the Chicago area.
WEG Electric Motors Corporation and HD Supply have expanded their leased space. WEG Electric Motors, a Brazilian-based company involved in the manufacture, sales, distribution and service of electric motors and related parts, increased its space by more than 84,000 square feet and relocated into 163,470 square feet in Crossroads 1.
HD Supply, an industrial distribution company and a tenant in Northlake I, expanded into the 79,288 square feet vacated by WEG Electric Motors in Northlake I, raising its total leased square footage to 346,663 square feet.
“Meeting our existing customers’ needs for expanded space is a priority at Duke Realty, and we are pleased that we were able to accommodate both of these important customers’ needs,” said Steve Schnur, senior vice president of Duke Realty’s Chicago operations. “The depth of our portfolio and strong relationships with our tenants enabled us to provide WEG Electric Motors and HD Supply the space they need and the ability to continue to operate out of modern, well-maintained facilities in strong industrial submarkets with superior highway access.”
Located at 2 Gateway Court in Bolingbrook, Ill., Crossroads 1 is a 289,920-square-foot building with 30-foot clear height, 48-foot-by-40-foot bay spacing, 40 dock doors and two drive-in doors. Northlake I, a 414,000-square-foot building, is located at 635 Northwest Ave. in Northlake and features 30-foot clear heights, 84 exterior docks, four overhead drive-in doors and 55 trailer spaces.
Darren Ross with Colliers International and Brian Carroll with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented WEG Electric Motors in its lease transaction, while John Cash with NAI Hiffman represented HD Supply in its expansion. Steve Connolly and Mark Moran with NAI Hiffman were the listing brokers for Crossroads I. Duke Realty was represented by Susan Bergdoll, vice president of leasing, in both transactions.
